Our goal is to provide our customers with a motorcycle training experience incomparable to other schools. Our Master Instructors are professionals who developed the BlackSwanMoto Methodology to deliver exemplary instruction whether in the classroom or on the dirt.  Our class sizes are limited for a better Instructor to student ratio.  Our Adventure Rider Level 1 and Level 2 training class locations are enclosed paddocks to ensure focus in a stable learning environment.  Each student gains proficiency and confidence which will make their ride safer and more satisfying.  You can expect a level of expertise, integrity and professionalism rare in the industry.

“A great way to reactivate body and mind as well as learn and reinforce skills.”

S. Bushong Level 1 Training -
“Really, really enjoyed the weekend. A great value, and has really improved my riding confidence. I’d never done anything like that before and was exceedingly trepidatious when I came into it, but everyone was supporting and encouraging and friendly and gave all the right instructions at the right time. I would take exactly the same weekend again. Really good instructors, all of them.”

K. Goess Level 1 Training -

“Money well spent. The groups were not too big and we were able to continue riding through the drills.”

B. Beauchesne Level 1 Training -

“I have attended many other trainings in the past and feel that the value is incredible compared to others.”

Level 1 Adventure Rider Training

In BlackSwanMoto Level 1 Adventure Rider Training, we increase your confidence by combining classroom discussion with practical application. Your training begins with instruction in proper clutch, brake, and throttle control. Our Instructors guide you through body positioning, posture and balance, moving into techniques in starting, stopping, and skid management.

This is the foundation on which we will build your confidence, allowing you to learn and practice effective momentum and slow speed control, as well as turns and directional changes using these core techniques.  Practical application exercises of these fundamentals will include trail riding, traversing hills and sand, in addition to techniques for recovery from stalled hill climbs.  This training will provide you with the essential set of skills to get you comfortable in the dirt and off on your next adventure.

Level 2 Adventure Rider Training

By now you’ve been on many adventures off-road either on your own, or better yet, with a group of your fellow riders. Chances are your confidence and skill levels are such that you can enjoy the ride more and take in your surroundings without having to concentrate on every action and reaction the bike is translating from the ground to your body. You are more present in the moment but there is still a part of you that doesn’t quite feel in-tune with everything, especially when speeds begin to increase or when negotiating more complicated obstacles.

If you have taken our Level 1 Adventure Rider Training class, mastered the fundamentals through practice and experience, and you’re looking to take on some serious ground, longer excursions, and more adventurous riding, it’s time for Level 2. In our Level 2 class you will progressively learn how to pick up speed and conquer more difficult environments, and push the limits of what’s possible on an adventure motorcycle. We will provide an intensive and comprehensive breakdown of body position, controls, and how to get the power to the ground.

“Instructor to student ratio was great. I felt like I was the most important person taking the class.” … “…instructors listened to the students and worked with each of them so we could continue to improve.”

T. Rolsen Level 2 Training-

It was listening to countless scenarios from fellow riders and customers that motivated BlackSwanMoto’s Instructors to develop a Level 2 curriculum. In our Level 2 class, BlackSwanMoto addresses some of the more nuanced aspects of riding technique and technical know-how that is rarely seen and/or experienced in a closed training course environment.

Level 2  begins with a quick refresher of the skills honed from the our Level 1 course. We then build upon them by introducing added techniques such as skidding into and powering out of turns, lofting over obstacles, ascending and descending steps, etc., situations that steadily become more challenging with each successful repetition. Taking those newly added skills we apply them to real-world situations outside of a closed course environment where unpredictability reigns. As speed increases, reading the trail becomes reinforced through amplified obstacle difficulty. Precision is reinforced through combinations of successive obstacles. Endurance and agility sharpens through this heightened rider intensive format.
