Forward Motion and the Destruction of Balance

Balance in life is something we all strive for – but change is inevitable and that looked-for balance can be difficult to find and maintain in the constant change of our lives.  Changing jobs, schools, homes, trying out different experiences in large and small ways creates difficulties as much as they create opportunities.  Forward motion and the chance for success lives in that breaking of the status quo – the destruction of the familiar in favor of the unexplored, in short, you want that omelette? Start breaking eggs.

The overall structure and function of a motorcycle is simple.  A gasoline engine which converts the reciprocating motion of pistons into rotary motion…as the back-wheel turns, it propels the motorcycle forward.  Leonardo da Vinci was the first to recognize forward motion as a propulsive force, “motion is created by the destruction of balance, …for nothing can move by itself which does not leave its state of balance…”.  Destroying their own “state of balance” in favor of that forward motion is what riders do once they decide to take to the dirt. That opportunity can only exist within a rider willing to take themselves off the road and venture beyond the known.

Dual-sport riding is the challenge of rider and motorcycle vs. constantly changing terrain.  Consistent instruction and persistent practice are the tools to engage to transform your ride.  BlackSwanMoto can help you do both as you develop your off-road balance.  Dare to decide to let a little destruction into your life, into your ride, and into an adventure that can last a lifetime.
